…Did you see the explicit one because I did…
I debated putting that up for about 5ever. There she is…. -Rolls off a cliff-
Sousuke costume by me.
Wig: Arda Wigs Hansel styled by myself.
Jacket: Taobao order, absolutely amazing- unfortunately I did not save the link. If you check Taobao’s more mainstream stores you should be able to find it!
Makoto wig: Arda Wigs Buttercup styled by myself, though our Makoto had previously styled it so this was not a chore by any means. (He also ordered the Buttercup only because they were out of stock at the time of the wig he wanted.)
Jacket: Iwatobi Swim Club (The zipper on one of these proved defective, buyer beware)

(My face on any given day)
If you want to avoid breakout you can follow my routine but I can’t guarantee it’ll work- I have combination oily and dry skin, in a “T” across my face, it’s annoying, a LOT of things about my face are annoying and “unique” and “special” but mostly just a lot of work to work with. This is my daily care regiment.
Apply massive amounts of Vaseline Intensive Care Essential Healing to the dry areas of my face- and I mean MASSIVE because Escondidio and Southern Cali are #@^ all dry. I also drink 2-3 bottled waters a day because our water is @!!$… so I imagine that also has something to do with it.
I take hair, skin, and nail vitamins daily with Biotin.
I scrub / exfoliate every 2-3 days. You can use anything for this, I go with Clearasil but you know- I switch it up every now and then. It’s better to do that with my face. It gets used to it, then fights me tooth and nail and starts breaking out again it’s stupid, everything’s stupid.
Makeup Application: THERE IS A SPECIFIC ORDER YOU HAVE TO DO THIS IN - IF YOU DON WANNA OR YOU FIND A BETTER WAY FOR YOUR FEATURES THEN GO FOR IT- This is just how I do it. So follow the steps or not- wudevs.
FOUNDATION: I don’t have to apply too much BB cream but because I never sleep (@@%^….) I still have to apply it heavily around my eyes because they tend to get darker. Don’t use that @^@! @%@ery they sell at Target or Wal-Mart- buy the brand from Korea- Lioele. This stuff is basically real life Photoshop. It’s expensive but it’s worth it. Make sure to snag a powder as well, because Korea is @%$! all humid so Lioele will look dewy unless you apply a powder to matt your face.- I use Age Rewind, but i’m running out and they are discontinued, which is a shame because they were quite feasibly the best for my skin combo. You can pick up any other powder that matches your face- I would recommend Neutrogena but if you’re watching your budget then Elf might have some powder foundation- just don’t add liquid on liquid.
HIGHTLIGHTS/LOWLIGHTS: Using bronzer and blush depending on your skin tone can increase your appearance of health (which is good because I’m generally all pale from lack of sleep) after applying the foundation, applying highlights and then applying lowlights (powder and bronzer for masculine and angular lowlights and powder for highlights or powder and blush more feminine) works well for my facial structure. I unno if it’ll work for you, you have to try it. I generally use it to highlight cheekbones, darken areas to make them pop, make my jaw bone pop ETC.
I went ahead and used one of my most recent photos to show you guys the facial plane and where I apply my makeup- “red” is for powdered highlights, and “white” is for bronzer or lowlights. I went ahead and used a masculine example because let’s face it, my face is built towards the male side of the spectrum.
EYEBROWS: These are important as hell- they hold all your expression, On a day to day I look like an alien because mine are nearly shaved off because I apply new ones before I head out. I can’t handle the fact that for some reason my brow line has an issue with growing in symmetrically so I just opted to go the harder route and paint them on every time.
You can use many different tools to fill in your eyebrows.
Eye-Liner can be applied to give a sharp cartoon look or a natural look. Eyeshadow can be applied with an angle brush, lip liner can change your eye color super easily. I use a Nordstrom eye shadow palette, but if you apply carefully enough you can use just about any palette.
Example of lip liner for the eyebrows:
EYE LINER: I have no advice for you because I have NO IDEA what your eye set is. Mine is smaller in shape, and the diameter of my pupil is so odd and rare that It’s been recommended I don’t wear contacts, so it causes me issue applying eye liner and allowing people to see the lid. For this reason I have to use techniques to extend the wings and eye shadow to shape my eye every. God. Damn. Time. I. Apply. Makeup.
Here the makeup was applied to cause an elongated affect, making my eyes look bigger than they are from further back. It’s all eyeshadow and bull@!@.
It’s bullshit and i’m jealous of you people with your sunrise features.
CHARACTER MAKEUP: Then it all comes down to what character i’m doing- what brow shape they have, male? Female? What eye shape do they have? I use simple stuff like wet and wild- again- nothing really expensive or glamorous or mysterious. Like any other thing, it takes time and patience to make it turn out well. I generally use q-tips to erase lines I don’t want and re-apply. I’ve learned a lot since that bottom image
Optional application: Nude lipstick
The best i’ve ever seen was Mac- this is an unknown off brand I picked up- I haven’t gotten around to Mac yet. You can see the example of this on Takeru above. (Blue haired “boy”) It’s best if you use lip scrubbing agents, then apply chapstick, wait for your lips to absorb, then apply Nude Lipstick. Otherwise any dead skin will show and be oddly apparent.
Fixatives and Matt Powders:
If you don’t apply this it’s more than lkely if you have a skin combo like mine (oily in certain areas) you will be swimming in your own makeup within the hour-especially in heat. Applying powders and sealing agents are a total @!#^ing must.
Extras and details: It’s not necessarily important- but I always like to apply excess details to really tie in color combos with my costumes. You can see this again in the above image of Takeru with the teal nailpolish, teal eyeliner, and blue lip liner. Together they mesh well with the overall costume, and with no pink lips to detour it’s generally well received. (I had quite a few people scream at me- maybe a little TOO well received.)
BRUISE Makeup and blood applications:
Bruise and blood makeup can be very tricky to make realistic. When a bruise forms and surfaces it’s generally a mixture of darker to lighter colors in a gradient. Generally going from purple, purple red, to red yellow, to yellow. If you want to appear as though you have been suffering for some time you can add to the size of the bruise. Shizu chan got punched a few days ago and he’s not in a good mood.
BLOOD Makeup: You can find blood makeup just about anywhere but GOOD blood application is an art form. Usually application starts from the formation of the cut, where the blood will coagulate, then slowly dribbles down following the contour of the plane and gravity.
PROSTHETICS: I generally use Prosaid and a citrus remover when applying any kind of prosthetic. It can be a bit tricky, especially with ears, but one of the best methods is to carefully slide it in place and then dab lightly until it adhears. Before application- always add bronzer and blush to match your skin color- adding prosthetics just the way they are always looks very odd as the prosthetic generally isn’t made specifically for you and are a generic color. Adding splashes of color and contouring the inside and outside of the ear or cut ETC really makes it look like a extension of YOU.
Of course it doesn’t hurt to continue to alter your appearance in other ways -points at bodysuit-
I will likely edit and add onto this post as I learn and finesse my knowledge. For now, this is what you get. Swearing and all.
